Noise canceling is not good. The hissing it generates is not a constant one, like the kind of static you get on radio (varying level of hiss). As an over the ear headphone (covering your ears completely, as a note here, my ears are small, and they barely fit, so if your ears are big then forget about this one), you expect a better performance, but, even JVC's or Sony's cheap on-ear models (the ones around the similar price) do much better than this one, despite that they don't cover the ears wholly.
The sound quality is average, and some frequencies are boosted more than the others, so, for this one, I actually need to reduce some frequencies (low-to-mid ones) just to get a flat level of response.
Turning on and off the noise canceling button feels like hitting the cup with your finger when you are wearing it. Suggestion, do not turn it on/off while you are wearing it, the noise it creates is dangerous for the ears.
I don't suggest this headphone, even at this price. There are better and more comfortable models out there, within the same price range. I bought this one to try it, since I heard some good things about it, but I guess I should have questioned the origins of those reviews before taking the next step.
